The Leadership

Michael Mai

Managing Director

Born into a highly successful business family in China, Michael was educated in Melbourne from the age of 16. He attended Scotch College and Melbourne University where he studied Commerce and Engineering. His love affair with Melbourne convinced him to make his home here. Enamoured by the city’s architecture, artistry, people and culture, Michael is committed to creating beautiful, prominent buildings that reinforce Melbourne’s unique identity, environment and status.


Matthew Khoo

Deputy Managing Director

Born and bred in Melbourne, Matt holds three degrees, each with First Class Honours: a Bachelor of Property & Construction, Commerce and a Masters of Applied Finance. His experience spans property research, acquisitions, finance and risk analysis. His ambition is to produce work that enhances Melbourne’s streetscapes and skylines, creating an international benchmark for beauty and quality of life.


Sal Quah

Director of Operations

Sal’s formal qualifications are formidable, acquired in both Malaysia and Australia. They include a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechatronics), and Masters in Engineering Management and Telecommunications Engineering. Since joining ICD Property he has become a valuable asset assisting with the acquisition and delivery of all major projects. Sal hopes superior development and architecture will ensure Melbourne retains its title of ‘world’s most liveable city’ for years to come.



Samantha Pearce

People Development Manager

Samantha has a background in business and marketing. Her role at ICD sees her instilling a positive workplace culture that encourages a healthy work life balance. This ensures the ongoing high performance and professional enjoyment experienced by our employees. A born entrepreneur, Samantha owns her own property development business outside of ICD which increases and informs the knowledge and insights she brings to us.


Alice Smith

Development Manager

Alice’s background is in architecture. In 2010 she was recruited to ICD as one of the first staff members and her previous professional experience working within the design fraternity has underpinned her development methodology. Attracted to the energy, dynamism and complexity of development work, Alice moved to ICD where she is well known for the pride she takes in seeing communities respond enthusiastically, often passionately, to the projects we produce.


Simone Gervasi

Development Manager

With a background in property and valuation, Simone was promoted to the role of development manager at a very young age. Her formal qualifications include being awarded the Dean’s Honours from University of Melbourne. An integral member of the ICD team, with involvement in a broad variety of projects, Simone loves the impact she and her colleagues are making on Melbourne’s cityscape, not to mention the communities they are creating.


Steve Yang

Investment Manager

Steve was born in China and came to Melbourne to pursue higher education. His background is in commerce and finance and he holds First Class Honours in a Masters of Finance from the University of Melbourne. Steve brings insight and expertise to ICD through his previous work with major firms such as ANZ and KPMG. Today he works closely with our valued investors, providing unrivalled relationship management and financial risk assessments.


Sharon Blair

Financial Controller

A Certified Accountant who enjoys working on diverse projects, Sharon developed an interest in property whilst working for the Pacific Group of Companies. Gaining insight into the financial elements specific to the sector, she now concentrates on expanding ICD’s development portfolio in Australia and abroad. Key to this role is the ability to develop innovative and effective systems that provide ICD with opportunities and solutions alike.


Ben McKinnon

Acquisitions Manager

Ben’s career at ICD began while he was a full-time student, completing a Bachelor of Applied Science with a major in Property and Valuation. After university Ben moved into the role of Assistant Development Manager before taking on the newly created position of Acquisitions Manager. His key responsibility is now to manage the acquisition process, which includes identifying, assessing and securing new sites for development.


Roscoe Power

Assistant Development Manager

Roscoe’s passion for property development was sparked by four years spent in the commercial construction industry. This hands-on experience, combined with a Diploma of Building and Construction from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, makes him uniquely qualified to support and liaise with development consultants across a multitude of fields. His responsibilities encompass project feasibility studies and project-planning schedules.


Bobby Kennedy

Development Manager

Bobby’s role involves supporting the management of development operations and liaising with development consultants regarding construction, sales and marketing, engineering, architectural designs, planning, legalities and financing across the Fyansford development. He is also responsible for running and analysing project feasibility studies, and oversees the project-planning schedule for each of ICD’s developments.


Jacob Griffiths

Assistant Development Manager

Jacob is responsible for the analysis of potential sites for ICD projects and competitors alike. This includes general market research, due diligence reports and the building of databases on suburbs and projects. In addition, Jacob also compiles all data from ICD’s sales agents for analysis. He provides support across all projects for the development and construction team and maintains up-to-the-minute knowledge of planning regulations.


Joan Zhang

Assistant Accountant & Board Liaison

Joan holds a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Accounting and is also a Certified Accountant. With previous experience in both the superannuation and legal sectors, she now assists ICD’s Funds Manager and treasury across all current projects and manages Chinese investor relations. Joan is Board Liaison, overseeing relationships and contact between ICD and the Board, and is also Treasurer of the Mai Foundation, ICD’s corporate charitable partner.


Hayley Randall

Assistant People Development Manager

Hayley is a passionate and energetic Assistant People Development Manager who prides herself on effectively creating a positive culture and fun workplace within ICD. Hayley undertakes a diverse range of duties from HR responsibilities to running the day-to-day administrative operations, coordinating internal training programs and managing conferences and events.


Emma Lindell

Senior Executive Assistant

Emma has held various senior Executive Assistant roles at companies across the infrastructure, oil and gas, and security industries. Emma has a Bachelor in Management from Robert Gordon University, Scotland. As the Executive Assistant to ICD Property’s Directors, Emma liaises with clients and partners, coordinates diaries, manages emails, ensures the Directors are adequately briefed for meetings and manages a range of meetings and events.


Jason Yong

Investment Associate

Jason developed a passion for the property sector in Canada and after obtaining his MBA from Melbourne Business School, he was drawn to ICD property’s remarkable workplace culture and its unwavering commitment to shaping Australia’s cityscapes for the better. As a part of the Finance and Investments team Jason is predominantly involved in the financial structuring of real estate development projects, investment due diligence, and capital asset allocation.


Patrick Dignan

IT Analyst

Patrick completed his studies in Ireland where he achieved a Bachelor of Commerce before going on to complete a Masters in Computer Science at University College Dublin.
Following this he relocated to Melbourne, and began work with ICD Property as an IT Analyst.
Patrick plays a pivotal role in ICD Property’s operations team and enjoys developing bespoke solutions for the company’s IT needs across a wide range of platforms.


Simon Pleunik

Project Accountant

As a Project Accountant at ICD Property, Simon works with the finance team and development managers to create and manage project budgets, produce project management reports and provide in-depth analysis of budget variances. Simon’s role includes the provision of training and support to operational staff on all accounting and finance related matters.
